To strengthen the overall fire safety awareness of all employees, optimize emergency response capabilities in case of sudden fire hazards, and ensure the personal safety of staff as well as the security of company property, Haimen Shuguang Carbon Industry Co.,Ltd recently organized a comprehensive on-site fire safety drill at the company premises, with a core focus on teaching employees the standardized operation methods of fire extinguishers.
Fire safety constitutes an indispensable fundamental part of daily enterprise management, and mastering correct fire-fighting skills is essential for every member of the company. Prior to the practical drill, the administrative and safety management team delivered a detailed safety training session to all participating employees. The trainer systematically illustrated common causes of workplace fires, key fire prevention guidelines for office areas, production workshops and storage zones, as well as the hazard characteristics of different types of fires.
In the key training segment of fire extinguisher usage, professionals elaborated on the classification and applicable scenarios of various fire extinguishers equipped within the company, including dry powder fire extinguishers and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. Meanwhile, the trainer demonstrated the standard operating procedure of fire extinguishers on site, summarizing the widely recognized four-step operating principle of "Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep". To be specific, employees need to first pull out the safety pin of the fire extinguisher, then aim the nozzle at the root of the fire source, squeeze the pressure handle firmly, and sweep left and right continuously until the open fire is completely put out.
Following the demonstration, all employees took turns to participate in practical fire-extinguishing exercises under the supervision of professional instructors. During the hands-on practice, employees actively engaged in the operation, corrected improper actions in a timely manner under guidance, and gradually mastered the accurate operation skills of fire extinguishers to deal with initial stage fires.
After the completion of the drill, the person in charge of the company’s safety department made a concluding speech. He emphasized that initial fire control is the critical link to curb fire spread and reduce accident losses.
